David and Helly, thank you! Absolutely loved our stay at the Jolly Poacher Retreat in Spring Creek! Warm hospitality, fresh and delicious breakfast, and waking up to sheep right behind the cottage made it magical. We truly enjoyed grilling both nights, and David made sure we had everything we needed. Big thanks to David and Helly for the great winery recommendation—and we got a kick out of the “tiny” guest book. Grateful for such a peaceful and memorable experience.

"The accommodation itself was beautiful, but my stay was marred by the owner's unacceptable behavior. I experienced a significant invasion of privacy when the owner entered my room without my permission. I was then verbally abused for leaving lights, the towel rail, and the heat pump on. The owner yelled aggressively in my face and threatened to throw my belongings outside, which made me feel unsafe and led to my decision to leave early."

Cottages beautifully set up with Hunting and Fishing themes throughout. Helen & Dave excellent hosts going the extra mile. Love the quietness and tranquility of the property. Highly recommended

Helen and Dave are wonderful hosts. Excellent stories, delicious homemade marmalade and even a man cave to die for! A clean, comfortable and homely place to stay after some wine tasting, with beautiful gardens. They really have created a little slice of paradise.

The cabin/ cottage is gorgeous with grazing sheep in the paddock near by. Beautiful established gardens with lots of bird songs. Hellen and Dave were so welcoming and gracious to us. They allowed our family to use their pool. Beautiful walking areas along the river banks. This is our second visit and we will definitely come back again.

We had a great relaxing time here. Helen and Dave are great hosts who make you feel very welcome. The cottage is very roomy and nicely appointed. The gardens are amazing. It’s a great stay for visiting the wineries and/or Picton area. Highly recommended.
