My recent stay at the Sneha Hotel in Nepalgunj on July 4th, 2025, was deeply unsatisfactory, leaving me with a strong sense of regret for choosing this establishment. The experience was marred by broken promises, unhygienic conditions, and a complete lack of customer service. Upon booking, I was quoted NPR 7,100 for a room with breakfast, a rate designated for foreigners, while Nepali nationals were charged NPR 3,000 for a similar arrangement. Despite the premium price, the service and amenities were shockingly subpar. A significant issue arose with our early morning departure for a 6 AM flight to Dolpo. I had specifically requested a packed breakfast for 5:30 AM, a request the receptionist assured me would be met. However, when the time came, not only was the breakfast not ready, but the staff also seemed completely unprepared. After a delay, at 4:45 AM, we were handed a plastic bag containing rotten mangoes and oranges. This was an insulting substitute for a paid breakfast, and what was more appalling was the absence of a simple apology from the staff for their failure. The disappointment extended to the state of the room itself. The overall cleanliness was well below acceptable standards, with the room feeling dirty and unhygienic. The toilet emitted a persistent and unpleasant odor, further detracting from the comfort of the stay. Additionally, the swimming pool, which is advertised as a key feature, was visibly dirty and uninviting. Given the high price point and the hotel's claims of providing quality service, my experience was a stark and unpleasant contrast. I cannot in good conscience recommend Sneha Hotel to any traveler. The lack of basic hygiene, failure to deliver on promises, and indifferent attitude of the staff make it a place to avoid in Nepalgunj.
