Room was good. Only problem was they are doing a lot of building work to the hotel so a lot of noise early on!!!

My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay here as we had tickets booked to watch a concert at Dreamland. Firstly, it is an amazing location for the price, right next to the station, beach and dreamland itself (we could actually hear the sound test from our room which didn't bother us but might be an inconvenience to others especially late at night). There's plenty of free parking and at first appearances the downstairs refurb (reception and check in/restaurant) looks lovely. Unfortunately, that's about as far as I can go with the pros. Issue started when we got to our room. Room was okay but was a bit grubby in areas. We found the beds comfortable and bedding clean. Only 1 additional pillow for a room that sleeps 3 which a bit strange but didn't bother us too much. The rooms if being refurbed gradually could really benefit from better heating/air con as the room itself was so stuffy and actually a few degrees hotter than outside which made sleeping somewhat of a challenge even though we were provided with a fan. Key card also didn't sit in the slot properly so we had to prop something against it to hold it in otherwise the lights were turning off every 10 seconds. We then had an ordeal at breakfast and I can only assume our experience matches those of other recent reviews referring to the same individual. When we checked in using the kiosks there was no mention of us having to book breakfast (we had already prepaid for this both days of our stay). My husband came down for breakfast the first day of our stay and was met by who we can only assume is the manager or another employee on a power trip with a clipboard. Never have we come across someone so rude and entitled. He hadn't booked a timeslot for breakfast (again, noone had mentioned this upon check in, nor was it mentioned as policy on any booking emails) and when he told her this he was smirked at and asked for our room number and name of booking. He gave her our room number and gave name of the booking and was told that no breakfast had actually been added to the booking, but whilst smirking the entire time. It wasn't until he came back up to the room, got the screenshot of the email and went back down she allowed him to sit for breakfast. Later that morning (bearing in mind it was almost lunchtime at this point) he went to the bar and asked if he could order a pint and was laughed at and told 'not at this time no' by the same person. Again, smirking and just generally looking down her nose. We both went down to breakfast the following morning - again, we hadn't booked as it doesn't state anywhere that you need to (and we've never had this at any other premier inn before) no effort was made to tell us how we could book a timeslot or help us book even despite the ordeal the day before, so we had to try our luck and came down relatively early so we could chance getting a slot. We were unfortunately met by the same person who had the same look of distaste that we were back. Even

Previously, Premier Inn's I've stayed at were really good and is why I booked this one for my holiday. However, when we got in the room, there was mold in the room as well as the bathroom. We could see cobwebs and dust on some of the surfaces suggesting it hadn't been cleaned. There was also paint coming off the wall and multiple scratches on it. There also wasn't a bedside table on one of the sides of the bed so any items like a drink or phone had to be put on the floor. Additionally, the free parking isn't always available as it is used as a normal car park for any one to use so we found it really difficult finding a parking space. Luckily, we didn't stay in the hotel for most of the day but I expect a lot better from Premier Inn and we paid a premium for a sea view room.

We usually love staying at Premier Inns, and book for the sleep quality and Good Night Sleep Guarantee (quiet rooms, nice beds!) This time we had the opposite experience. (1) Beds set up slanting (we were sunken down on the sides and head, so slanted downwards diagonally) (2) Noise from nearby festival til very late. As a result, I kept waking up through the night, had a headache the next day and my partner had back pain. Not to mention the fire alarm went off at 8am. We spoke to staff the next morning who didn't even really know what the Good Night's Sleep Guarantee was so I offered to call in instead. Just got off the phone with Guest Relations Team and disappointed to find the 'Good Night's Sleep Guarantee' is full of T&Cs. Even though the bed was set up wrong by housekeeping, apparently it's not covered because the bed itself was purchased in the past 2 years? Makes no sense.

Good for one night. Good location for railway links and being in the middle of town. Hotel itself is okay. Food area isn’t too bad. Quite small. Only snack type food up until 5pm. Don’t expect anything amazing until then as it’s what you would get at home. Got 2 keys for the room… one of which didn’t work, and you needed a separate key for the lights too. Room was pretty grimy! Mould on ceilings, chunks out of the walls, bathroom was grim, towels had been used by looks of it as were stained, toilet seat didn’t look like it had ever been cleaned. The room only had a fan in it… with the window wide open and fan on majority of the night the heat was going up and up to 29’C! Tough to sleep until early hours. Was much cooler outside! Would suggest to stay here for a night if you’re only sleeping and that’s it! Definitely won’t be using again. Car parking is £7 for one night stay. So be aware as most premier inns car parking is free. Definitely look up other reviews on this hotel. If you’re using for one night it might be okay but do it at your own risk!

Checkin was easy with the automated screens at 3pm. The bar was handy for drinks. The room allocated was on the ground floor opposite the reception. No noise was heard from outside, but I could hear guests above walking around. There were a few issues with the room: a damp smell, the table light switch was missing, the bathroom extractor fan and the bathroom tap were both dirty. See pictures. I slept well. I didn't try the breakfast as there is The Mechanical Elephant - JD Wetherspoon a five minute walk away. I would stay again for the price I paid and for its handy bath tub.

This hotel is perfectly located in Margate for Train and the main beach area users. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had early check in and a Prem Plus room, all decent fittings with very good aircon, bed bathroom. The room cost, booked about 3 weeks in advance was very good, much better than the other hotel options in Margate. Mild gripe - the smell of fags in the corridors. Suggested improvements - plant some more trees and look after the ones already planted.
