My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay here as we had tickets booked to watch a concert at Dreamland. Firstly, it is an amazing location for the price, right next to the station, beach and dreamland itself (we could actually hear the sound test from our room which didn't bother us but might be an inconvenience to others especially late at night). There's plenty of free parking and at first appearances the downstairs refurb (reception and check in/restaurant) looks lovely. Unfortunately, that's about as far as I can go with the pros. Issue started when we got to our room. Room was okay but was a bit grubby in areas. We found the beds comfortable and bedding clean. Only 1 additional pillow for a room that sleeps 3 which a bit strange but didn't bother us too much. The rooms if being refurbed gradually could really benefit from better heating/air con as the room itself was so stuffy and actually a few degrees hotter than outside which made sleeping somewhat of a challenge even though we were provided with a fan. Key card also didn't sit in the slot properly so we had to prop something against it to hold it in otherwise the lights were turning off every 10 seconds. We then had an ordeal at breakfast and I can only assume our experience matches those of other recent reviews referring to the same individual. When we checked in using the kiosks there was no mention of us having to book breakfast (we had already prepaid for this both days of our stay). My husband came down for breakfast the first day of our stay and was met by who we can only assume is the manager or another employee on a power trip with a clipboard. Never have we come across someone so rude and entitled. He hadn't booked a timeslot for breakfast (again, noone had mentioned this upon check in, nor was it mentioned as policy on any booking emails) and when he told her this he was smirked at and asked for our room number and name of booking. He gave her our room number and gave name of the booking and was told that no breakfast had actually been added to the booking, but whilst smirking the entire time. It wasn't until he came back up to the room, got the screenshot of the email and went back down she allowed him to sit for breakfast. Later that morning (bearing in mind it was almost lunchtime at this point) he went to the bar and asked if he could order a pint and was laughed at and told 'not at this time no' by the same person. Again, smirking and just generally looking down her nose. We both went down to breakfast the following morning - again, we hadn't booked as it doesn't state anywhere that you need to (and we've never had this at any other premier inn before) no effort was made to tell us how we could book a timeslot or help us book even despite the ordeal the day before, so we had to try our luck and came down relatively early so we could chance getting a slot. We were unfortunately met by the same person who had the same look of distaste that we were back. Even
