Staying at the SO/ Maldives, I was so captivated by the beauty that I didn't want to leave.

Staying at the SO/ Maldives, I was so captivated by the beauty that I didn't want to leave.

My friends, as a seasoned traveler, I was completely blown away by the SO/ Maldives. The experience was simply perfect! Upon arrival, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and efficiently checked me in, offering refreshing drinks that instantly made me feel welcome. Stepping into my room, I couldn't help but gasp! The ocean view suite was spacious and bright, with wooden floors and soft bedding, perfectly blending modern minimalist style with island elements. The enormous floor-to-ceiling windows showcased the magnificent Indian Ocean in all its glory. Lying on the bed, listening to the waves lapping against the shore and gazing at the endless ocean view, I felt completely rejuvenated. The room was equipped with all sorts of smart devices, allowing me to effortlessly control the lighting and music, adding a touch of high-tech charm. The hotel's culinary offerings were diverse and abundant. Breakfast was a true feast. The fresh tropical fruits burst with flavor; the crispy bread paired with rich coffee was the perfect start to an energetic day; and the local specialty curry, with its unique blend of spices, was simply irresistible. Dinner at the seaside restaurant, accompanied by the sound of the waves, was a seafood extravaganza. The tender lobster, succulent crab – every bite was a gift from the ocean. In addition to these, there were dishes inspired by various cuisines, catering to every palate. The water activities were so plentiful that it was hard to choose! As a snorkeling enthusiast, I felt like I had found paradise. Following the instructor into the depths, I was surrounded by vibrant coral reefs and schools of tropical fish, as if I had entered a dreamlike underwater world. Even if you can't swim, there's no need to worry, as the instructors provide patient guidance. After a day of fun in the water, I relaxed on the beach, soaking up the sun, or took a dip in the infinity pool. There's also a gym for those who want to work up a sweat, and a spa with skilled massage therapists to melt away any fatigue. The hotel's service was impeccable. The staff were enthusiastic and attentive, always ready to assist with booking activities or answering questions, promptly and thoughtfully. Once, I wanted to find a quiet spot to watch the sunrise, and the staff made meticulous arrangements, even preparing snacks, which was incredibly heartwarming. However, during peak season, the hotel can get crowded, with the beach and public areas becoming a bit congested. It's best to book water activities in advance. But these minor drawbacks didn't detract from the overall fantastic experience. The SO/ Maldives fulfilled all my fantasies of an island getaway. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an island vacation. Just go for it!

SO/ Maldives, Embark on a Dreamy Island Luxury Getaway

Friends, as a seasoned traveler who's been all over the world, I've stayed in at least eighty, if not a hundred, hotels. But my experience at SO/ Maldives truly blew me away! From Malé, we took a speedboat to the hotel, accompanied by the stunning beauty of the Indian Ocean along the way. The scenery alone made me eager to arrive. Upon arrival, the staff warmly greeted us, helped with our luggage, and the check-in process was incredibly swift. They even thoughtfully offered welcome drinks, instantly dispelling the fatigue of the journey. I stayed in an overwater villa. The moment I opened the door, wow! The room's decor was exactly to my liking. The modern minimalist design, combined with Maldivian wooden elements, was both stylish and full of island charm. The room was spacious, with all the necessary amenities. What surprised me most was the intelligent control system, allowing me to easily manage the lights, music, and air conditioning through my phone – a truly high-tech experience. The highlight of the room was undoubtedly the private terrace and infinity pool! Standing on the terrace, I was greeted by the endless azure sea, sunlight shimmering on the water's surface – a breathtakingly beautiful sight. The pool water was crystal clear, the temperature just right, perfect for a refreshing dip at any time. From the terrace, I could also directly access the sea for snorkeling, observing the colorful coral reefs and schools of tropical fish up close. This intimate connection with nature was truly amazing. The hotel's culinary offerings were also exceptional. Breakfast provided a wide variety of foods, including fresh tropical fruits, freshly baked bread, local snacks, and various coffees and juices. Every item was delicious and appetizing. For dinner, I tried the hotel's seafood restaurant, where the seafood is freshly caught daily. The chef's culinary skills were superb, each dish a feast for the senses. Paired with a glass of fine wine, it was pure bliss. Besides the food, the hotel offers a plethora of entertainment activities. Water sports enthusiasts can indulge in snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, and surfing. I had an absolute blast! If you prefer staying dry, you can sunbathe on the beach, work out in the gym, or pamper yourself with a massage at the hotel's spa. The service here is impeccable. The staff is warm and attentive, always striving to meet your every need. Once, I accidentally lost my sunglasses at the beach, and the staff helped me search for them, which was truly touching. Of course, no hotel is perfect. During peak season, there are more tourists, and the beach and public areas can get a bit crowded. However, this didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the hotel. In summary, my stay at SO/ Maldives was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Airport Souvenirs

Male transit area This transit area has been expanded and there are more souvenir shops than before. In Male, the majority of their goods are imported so you will not find much on local produce. However, their handicrafts are exquisite and you can always buy their crafted soaps for memories too. However, I find that you can buy nicer craft soaps from Bangkok at a cheaper price. Having said that, you can buy those Made in Maldives souvenirs to commeratote your visit to Maldives. I find their ocean animals' soft toys are worth buying. Those photo frames decorated with seashells are not bad either. #createwithtrip #maldives #male #overseas #overseastripmoments #urbanexplorer #unforgettableexperiences

Blue Skies With A Floating Breakfast.

Blue Skies With A Floating Breakfast.

Recently I went to visit the Maldives and wow, what can I say.. Every corner of the resort I stayed at just served up the most amazing scenery. Having a floating breakfast on the private pool under the sun with blue waters everywhere was just something else. Very picturesque. The food option offered could have been better, but the experience of it all made up for it. Can't wait to go back!

Half-day guide to a city walk in Malé, the capital of the Maldives.

Half-day guide to a city walk in Malé, the capital of the Maldives.

Malé, the capital of the Maldives, is a compact and vibrant city. We spent half a day here before going to Kani Island. The sea here is also very beautiful! When you leave the airport, you will really feel that the ceiling of the glass sea is here! To be honest, you can stroll around slowly and finish it in one day~ Recommended attractions🚗: Sultan Park: This is a quiet oasis in Malé, with the National Museum in the park. Here you can learn about the history and culture of the Maldives. After the visit, you can stroll in the park and enjoy a moment of tranquility. - Friday Mosque, Hukuru Miskiy: This centuries-old coral stone mosque is one of the most famous landmarks in Malé. Remember to wear long pants and long-sleeved tops. Female tourists also need to wear a headscarf to visit. - Fish Market: Located on the waterfront road, this is a good place to experience local life. In the afternoon, the fishermen will return with the day's catch, and the market is full of fresh seafood. Even if you don't buy it, you can watch the lively trading scene. Recommended food👍🏻: Try authentic Maldivian dishes. It is recommended to taste mas huni (tuna salad), garudhiya (fish soup) or various seafood barbecues. Malé has many good restaurants that offer these dishes. Tips💡 - Don't miss buying some handicrafts when shopping in Malé, such as woven baskets, shell jewelry, etc. as souvenirs. - Although English is widely used locally, learning a few simple Dhivehi greetings can help you communicate better with locals. - Pay attention to respect local customs and habits, especially near religious places.
