Savona: A little-discussed Italian city
#Sign up for June Hotel Test Sleeper 2025
Savona, located in northern Italy, is close to the port of Liguria, the capital of Savona Province. It is the home port of Costa Cruises and a traditional port. The navigator Columbus once settled here.
Because of its excellent shipping, it was once an important iron industrial town with cast iron, shipbuilding, brass foundries, etc. It is also a city with a long history. After arriving at the terminal of the port, you will see the Leon Pancaldo Tower, which is called La Torretta by the locals. The statue of Leon Pancaldo is also here.
Because of the lack of information, I thought I would not find any very beautiful places to visit. In the end, this town got a big surprise, the castle on the hill Fortezza del Priamar, ancient churches such as Cheisa San Andrea, the streets have beautiful arcades, ancient buildings and towers and proud sculptures. The atmosphere is very good and more attractions are concentrated on the main street Via Paleocapa
