2025 Burnaby Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

I am so lucky and grateful to have the chance to stay at Vancouver for 10 days during my time here in Canada. In these 10 days, my cousin took me to different places, and here I’ll share some of my favorite spots in Vancouver. 🏞️Stanley Park Stanley Park is really one of the most beautiful parks in Vancouver. There are many beautiful creatures like little ducks residing there. If you keep walking, you will reach the ocean and have a nice sunset view. I see many people jogging and biking there. You can really feel the liveliness from this place. 📍Vancouver, BC V6G 1Z4, Canada 🌃Vancouver Downtown At the downtown, you can see the age old steamed clock. My favorite restaurant there is The Old Spaghetti Factory🍝The price is reasonable and not pricy in the central part of Vancouver where everything is somewhat a little bit more expensive. 🏮China Town🪭 Vancouver is a city with Asian immigrants, so in China Town, you can see a lot of historical Chinese buildings and get the taste of the eastern aesthetic. 🚉Vancouver Sky Train Vancouver Sky Train is an affordable way to move around in the city. I like the design of it and on the Sky Train you can see many different views of Vancouver. 🐠Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf, Richmond🐟 This is a place where you can enjoy the breeze of the sea from the Pacific Ocean. At around 4p.m. in winter time, the sunset is beautiful to witness here🌅Also, you should definitely have the classy fish and chips here. The fish is fresh and crispy, and it’s nice to eat it with the costal view and sunset. 📍3800 Bayview St, Richmond, BC V7E 6K7, Canada 🌊Rocky Point Park You have to go to Rocky Point Ice Cream🍦if you visit here. See how the dog wants the ice cream so bad? Don’t worry, they even make ice cream for dogs to eat!🐾At the park, you can walk along the coast but also enjoy walking in the forest. It’s a nice and relaxing place to go to. 📍2800 Murray St, Port Moody, BC V3H 1X2, Canada 🌲Kushiro Park, Burnaby This park is named after the sister city Kushiro in Japan, so when you visit there, you can see some traditional wood carving statue of Japan. The forest is very beautiful with gigantic trees for you to enjoy and relax. The weather there is cozy, not too hot and not too cold, so you can have a relaxing walk there. 📍464 Centennial Way, Burnaby, BC V5A 1G9, Canada Vancouver is really one of the most cozy places to live in the world. The temperature and the humidity is both at the right spot. The city is mixed with modernness and nature, so you still can feel relaxed in this big city. Deer Lake in Burnaby is a popular place to see maple leaves. Every year in early October, the streets and museums around Deer Lake are crowded with people taking photos. At this time, the leaves are the most colorful, with golden, orange and dark red scenes intertwined, which is very spectacular, and complements the old buildings, iron railings and grass. The best time to see autumn at Deer Lake Park Trail and the lakeside viewing platform is a bit later, usually in mid to late October. You can stroll along the trail and enjoy the colorful trees and surrounding natural scenery reflected on the water. The open grassland around the lake is an excellent place to enjoy the tree canopy and the background of the distant mountains, suitable for taking photos or picnics. The main tree species here are: - Maple Trees: These trees turn golden, orange and dark red in autumn, which is particularly eye-catching. - Oak Trees: The leaves of oak trees will turn orange or dark red, adding a sense of color. - Western Red Cedar: These trees are green all year round, providing a beautiful contrast to the autumn red leaves. - Willow Trees: The willows by the lake will show a soft golden color with the change of autumn, which is very beautiful reflected in the lake. Deer Lake is a quiet nature reserve. The autumn scenery is fascinating and is especially suitable for walking, photography and enjoying the quiet natural time.

Mountain Park is about 30 minutes by bus or car from downtown Vancouver. There aren't many people, and the park is full of nature and history, so you can spend a relaxing time! It was a perfect place for a picnic🧺 Burnaby seems to be a sister city of Kushiro City in Hokkaido, and there seems to be a totem pole sent from Kushiro City. The Burnaby Country Museum, located in Burnaby deer lake, is very different from the usual museums. It is not like the museums we usually walk around, with the exhibits placed in a large exhibition hall. The entrance on the right is open, through the small bridge flowing water, you will see the train station, which means you have reached your destination😂 The train can go up to visit, and you can try to step on the ding ding and whistle, so in the distance you can also hear the train's humming sound😆 Then officially walked into the village, shops, presenting the life of the old people, barber shops, banks, medical offices, etc. can be seen, the most special is the Chinese herbs shop, this year's every Friday 1-3pm also sparrow 🀄️ activities, I have played there 😄😄 Why playing cards interesting, what does it mean, you know. #Overseas travel At the top of Burnaby Mountain, there is SFU (Simon Fraser University), and if you turn left at the entrance to the university, there is a road that goes up to Burnaby Mountain Park. As you go up the road, your ears may feel a little stuffy because of the high altitude, but once you get there, you are surprised by the view of all of Vancouver, and the already good air feels even clearer. 😅 After parking in the free parking lot and taking a pleasant walk, there are restaurants, cafes, benches and tables for picnicking, and it is a park that is great for a walk with large wooden sculptures or donated benches~^^ Be sure to stop by and enjoy the natural observatory🎈#Vancouver places to visit #Vancouver travel #Vancouver parks #Vancouver Burnaby

There are many restaurants and cafes in Vancouver, but there aren't many places that specialize in tea. This brand specializes in tea and the quality is pretty good~ There are two stores in Vancouver, and on this day, I went to the store in Metrotown Shopping Mall and ordered an O-Matcha Latte hot~ The taste was, as expected, the best!!! |An encounter with a magnificent bloom. 📍 Location: 6776 Grant Place, Burnaby Date: April 6, 2025 Today, I'll take you to Grant Place in Burnaby, one of the must-see cherry blossom streets I've recommended, and it still holds a spot in the top three cherry blossom streets in Vancouver. I've visited twice, once during peak bloom to capture its breathtaking beauty with my camera, and again today, amidst falling blossoms, to capture its ethereal charm with my phone. Though the styles differ, each frame is captivating. Today, I'll share its stunning beauty at its peak. Standing beneath the cherry blossoms, I instantly forgave Vancouver's long, depressing rainy season. The sky opened up to reveal a burst of pink. Grant Place wasn't just a street; it was Vancouver's redemption from the rainy season—millions of cherry blossoms tore through the gloom, their pink petals glowing softly in the sunlight, like pink snow, falling gently into the eyes of every onlooker. In that moment, all the descriptions of paradise in religious texts seemed to materialize in this cherry blossom tunnel. No words, no matter how eloquent, no camera, no matter how advanced, could fully capture the awe and wonder I felt. Each cherry blossom tree here is a masterpiece of nature, its sturdy branches gracefully outstretched, a canopy of petals filtering the sunlight. Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath, I felt the essence of spring fill my lungs. When the wind blew, millions of delicate blossoms whispered like a prayer, even the air blushing like a young girl's cheeks. As young couples strolled hand in hand, the entire street fell silent, like a wedding aisle. Souls wrinkled by the rainy season now slowly unfolded beneath the blossoms' shadows. We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown in Burnaby, British Columbia, and the overall experience left a lasting impression on us. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Burnaby, within walking distance to one of British Columbia's largest shopping centers, Metropolis at Metrotown. Additionally, the SkyTrain provides convenient transportation options to downtown Vancouver and Rogers Arena. The hotel staff were exceptional, polite, friendly, and always ready to assist us with anything we needed, making our stay feel even more welcoming. The only downside we encountered was the hotel's buffet breakfast. While it was decent, we found the food to be a bit bland and not quite up to the expected quality for the price. Overall, our experience was very pleasant, and we are happy to recommend the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown to family and friends visiting the Greater Vancouver area.

The cold winter is just around the corner. I'm from Shizuoka, so I get excited when it snows lol When I went to study abroad in Canada, it was so cold that it was tough, but the snow scenery in the park was so beautiful! 🫖La Foret Bakery & Coffee🍃 I went to a popular cafe near my accommodation that a local person recommended😊 It was crowded with many people, but the store was spacious and there were many seats, so there was no waiting time❕ The coffee was delicious and you can change it to soy or oat milk, so I recommend it☺️ They also have their own original ice cream, and I tried the matcha one and it was very delicious! Burnaby Central Park was established in 1891, located in the heart of Greater Vancouver, covering nearly 9 hectares. What's most attractive is that much of its land has been preserved as a well-preserved temperate rainforest ecosystem, with countless walking trails. This includes an award-winning children's playground, sports courts and pitch-and-putt golf, outdoor swimming facilities, lawn bowling facilities, several picnic areas, tennis courts, and several little duck ponds. The wildlife in the park includes gray squirrels and Canadian geese. Because it is located in the center of Greater Vancouver, it is a great place for leisurely strolls.
