Argentina's Hidden Gem: The Cafayate Valley
The Cafayate Valley, located in Salta Province, Argentina, is not a major tourist destination, but it offers breathtaking scenery beyond imagination.
There is a town called Cafayate, which can be reached by bus from Salta. However, the Cafayate Valley lies between Salta and Cafayate, and to explore this area, you would need to rent a car or join a tour.
Northern Argentina, particularly Salta and Jujuy Provinces, is dotted with stunning natural attractions. Renting a car to explore these areas can be a delightful experience.

Walk through red-rock formations, natural amphitheaters, and eroded cliffs shaped by wind and water. You’ll see sites like El Anfiteatro, La Garganta del Diablo, and more. Add a return loop via trails parallel to Route 68 to reach 15 km.

The Vino & Quebradas Ride
#cityplaybook
Start in Cafayate, wandering the vineyards and having a leisurely breakfast with a view of the mountains. Tour a bodega or two (Colomé or El Esteco, anyone?) before cruising through the Quebrada de las Conchas—its wild shapes and red rocks will make you stop every five minutes. Arrive in Salta city just in time for sunset from Cerro San Bernardo. End the day with a hearty dinner and a glass of Torrontés in a peña with live folk music. Vibes = 100%.
