2025 Cili Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

Here is some guidance for visiting the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and Yellow Dragon Cave in one day. 🌅 I recommend staying within Wulingyuan. We started our day at around 8am, grabbing some cheap, local breakfast from one of the numerous food options nearby (5-10 yuan per person, plus some extra to bring for lunch). You can then get a taxi for around 40-50 yuan from Wulingyuan to the entrance of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (which works out cheaper than getting the bus for a family of four). 💵 Adult ticket prices: 289 yuan Student prices: 178 yuan If you are a student, you will need photo ID (eg passport), your student ID and a document which proves you are studying at a bachelors level (can be online). These ticket prices include the glass bridge, VR experience, zip line (or elevators depending on what route you take), slideway, and 2 boat rides. Outwith this you can pay for other activities including bungee jumping (1999 yuan) and rock climbing (45 yuan). 🏔️Once tickets are bought, you can make your way along the Glass Bridge, wearing the provided shoe covers. On the other side there is a restaurant and the option for rock climbing. The option for bungee jumping takes place on the bridge. 🎈Next there is a walk along the cliff side and then a short VR experience that simulates a hot air balloon ride around the canyon. 🚶🏻♀️From here, there is either the option to zip line across the canyon and then the slideway to reach the other side, or if that isn’t for you, you can take a series of elevators and a few more walks. The meeting point of these two routes is the Rainbow Lake. 🛥️There is then a short boat cruise along the lake at the base of the canyon. Following this, a 40-50 minute walk to take in the views of the canyon, and through a short cave, before another cruise to reach the end of the Grand Canyon Experience. 🐉This takes you to around 4pm. From the car park at the exit of the Grand Canyon, take a 15 minute taxi ride to the entrance of the Yellow Dragon Cave (~25 yuan) or alternatively, there are coaches that travel in between for 10 yuan per person. 💵 Adult Price: 130 yuan Student Price: 65 yuan Last entry to the scenic area is 5:30pm. 🪨 You are taken on a guided tour that lasts about 1.5 hours through the caves with spectacular views of the stalactite and stalagmite structures with many light projections and includes a boat ride. 🚕 Once done, you can get a 10 minute taxi back into Wulingyuan (15 yuan). If you're brave enough, walk in the centre on the bridge on the glass and experience your insides turning into jelly. You have options of taking an elevator and slide down to the bottom of the mountain. Once you reach the bottom, I highly recommend you do the 5km valley walk. Best time for this is late afternoon. Less crowds and not as hot. At the end of the walk, you will experience a 500m boat ride to the exit.

The Grand Canyon is a place that you can’t miss if you are in the city of Zhangjiajie. This place is surrounded with so much nature and fresh air that will make you feel recharged. It is not an easy hiking so it is not recommended for people with weak knees. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes and some water, this site requires long walking around (2 to 3 hours). In case of getting exhausted is possible to find some places to sit down. This trip was so much fun and beautiful. The hike and every step was worth it. Slipping and sliding across the glass bridge because it was slippery with the ice and snow. A few of us got better aquanted withe the bridge😋 It's nice walking across t bridge and look at t beautiful views. Getting There - We had a personal driver who took us to the site. I would recommend going with a tour group it just makes it more convenient to t around. Attractions - Longest and highest glass bridge in the world. There are slides, zipline and bungee jumping. There's also a short boat ride you can go on. Hotels - We stayed at the Pullman Hotel amd travelled from there. Food & Restaurants - There are kiosk you can buy food and drinks.
