The nine famous lakes in the Tengger Desert each have their unique landscapes and features. 🏜️ It is an excellent destination for desert off-roading and adventure. 🚗 This time, I joined a self-driving team to visit Longyan Jade Lake. 🏞️ Longyan Jade Lake is named for its water color, which resembles the longan fruit. Our 3day Tengger desert tour started from Yinchuan, the red lake had to be it's superhighlight😊 Well, you can compare real pictures (August) with the first one from the drone the tour guide shared (captured somewhen in spring) 😁 Still it was a superhighlight, though a bit (MUCH🤭) smaller than expected and overadvertised. Getting There - Take a long distance bus at Yinchuan Passenger Station to Shapotou and get off at Tenggeli Desert(depart from Yinchuan) or book a private car from Zhongwei city(depart from Zhongwei). On the first day we entered the desert, we encountered a force seven wind. The sideways wind mixed with fine sand hits the hat, which is the sound of rain hitting the face; it hurts when it hits the face! Although he wrapped himself tightly, he was still covered with fine sand. Bringing a water backpack and water bag is really more convenient. I don’t have to pull down my mask to drink water. The oasis in the desert is full of vitality, and the big trees are precious resources. The irises in May are so beautiful. Luckily, I encountered a gerbil, it was really cute! The golden fur is so smooth in the sunlight that I really want to touch it. It was digging in the sand with its long legs in the level 7 wind. It was so cute. The tour guide also caught a sand lizard for us to feel its leather and soft belly. After we grabbed it and relaxed it, the little sand lizard would also relax and hold on to our fingers. The five lakes on the itinerary are Swan Lake, Ulan Lake, Suhatu Lake, and Sun Lake, and you will also see Moon Lake from a distance.
