PUBLIC PARK IN UNIVERSITY?
Yesssss. If you all want to know, UTAR stand for University Tungku Abdul Rahman. State in Kampar Perak. And of course, not a goverment university.
But, the interesting part of UTAR is, there are some places that public can go. Such as their garden, park, lake, bamboo structure. You can do activities like jog, picnic, photoshoot and else.
You just can get into this place by postguard, and park in front of the park. Its free. There are a lot of parking. So, you can park your car freely.

The food court in Kampar Street Market is very low-key, and it brings together classic local delicacies from the three major ethnic groups in Malaysia (Malays, Chinese and Indians). There are many choices such as assorted fruits with black sauce, coconut water, nasi lemak, coconut sugar and coconut shredded crepes and some fried foods, etc., and the price is cheap, it is highly recommended! #Three major ethnic groups #Classic #Hidden food

Curry Chicken Bread, Yau Kee Kampar
This restaurant is famous for the Curry Chicken Bread as well as other dishes. It is located at the town centre along Jalan Idris. The owner was inspired by the Beggar’s Bread from Hong Kong to come out with the idea of stuffed curry bread in 1986. This is the first time I tried curry chicken bread, and I love it. It is delicious and will make you eat non-stop, the curry chicken is baked inside the soft fluffy bread, very aromatic. If you are not able to take spicy food, settle for the equally tasty herbal chicken bread. This restaurant also serves the typical Chinese dishes. Food is nice and reasonably priced. Occasionally there are tour groups that come here to enjoy this specialty during lunch and dinner time.

Gua Tempurung
Great experience for a newbie cave explorer. There are 2 tours offered - dry tour and wet tour.
Both tours is divided to two more options - one is longer route than the other. You will be guided throughout the tours and can listen to so many facts explained by the guide. It would be much more interesting if you come in a group. We tried the dry tour (the longer route) since we did not bring any extra clothes. Took us around 40 minutes to the end of the tour back and forth to the cave entrance. There were thousands steps make sure you are fit enough to enjoy the walk. Next time for sure will try the wet tour it looks so much fun!

For Trip Content reviewer “Not All Flat Noodles Are Born Equal—Scroll Past at Your Culinary”
#summervacay #kampar #staycation #travel #kamparfood
Kampar taught me a lesson today that no food photo can fully prepare you for: two noodles may look alike, but one bite is all it takes to taste their difference.
Tucked in a quiet stall was a humble dish of Chu Cheong Fun (rice noodle rolls)—unassuming in appearance, but layered with options that turned my RM5 into a gourmet gamble I’d gladly take again. For that price (try finding that in KL without a time machine), I could dress my noodles in a variety of sauces: fragrant curry, sweet prawn paste, or the punchy fire of green chilli. Toppings? A mix-and-match heaven—fish balls, soft taufu, and airy-crispy shards of fish cracker added both bite and bounce.
Each bite was a reminder: looks deceive. The rice rolls soaked up the curry like they were born in it, while the prawn sauce wrapped the noodles in nostalgic sweetness. The green chilli? A wake-up call for any sleepy tastebuds.
Kampar’s Chu Cheong Fun isn’t just food. It’s local culture bundled into bite-sized scrolls, reminding us that sometimes the cheapest meals are the ones that stay with you longest—not just in your memory, but in your cravings.

🍜 Kampar 36 Stall – A Yong Tau Foo Haven Before Sundown
#summervacay
#travel #staycation #kampar
Hidden in the heart of Kampar, the unassuming Kampar 36 Stall might appear modest at first glance—but step closer, and you’ll find a culinary cornerstone, especially renowned for its Kampar-style yong tau foo. Open from as early as 7am until 5pm, this spot caters mostly to the early risers and lunch-goers, promising a comforting meal before the day winds down.
What sets this place apart isn’t just the variety—it’s the freedom. Here, you pick your noodle base, then match it with a medley of hand-stuffed goodies—fish paste–filled vegetables, tofu, meatballs—all steeped in a light, savory broth or served dry for a more concentrated kick.
Of all the choices, my personal favorite remains the humble rat noodle (lao shu fun)—soft, starchy strands shaped like silvery white mice tails. They cradle the broth like memory clings to comfort, slippery yet grounding, especially when paired with a subtle soup that doesn’t scream, but hums its presence gently on the palate.
While the stall doesn’t boast flashy signs or trendy plating, it thrives on something more vital—consistency, simplicity, and soul. Each visit feels like a warm return, not a novelty.

Ichiban Café, Kampar – Where Comfort Simmered in a Bowl
#summervacay #travel #thingstodo #Kamparfood #Ichibancafe #staycation #myitinerary
Tucked into a corner lot flanked by a chorus of bubble tea franchises—Tealive, Chagee, Mixue, OldTown and more—Ichiban Café quietly stands out by offering more than trendy drinks. It’s where East meets West on the menu, and comfort meets character in every dish.
Among options ranging from chicken chop to spaghetti, I went local: a steaming bowl of pork pepper soup with mihoon. The first sip was like a warm exhale—the broth clear yet rich, peppery without being overpowering, with a depth that lingered gently on the tongue. Tender pork slices mingled with soft vermicelli in every spoonful, while bits of crunchy preserved vegetables provided a surprise hit of texture and umami.
Pair that with an iced kopi, served with just the right ratio of bold brew and smooth sweetness, and I had the kind of lunch that calms the mind and revives the senses.
Ichiban may sit among giants of franchise fame, but it earns its place with honest flavors and a welcoming space. A humble standout in Kampar’s café tapestry.

Lotus’s Kampar – A Familiar Giant with a Local Beat
#summervacay #kampar #hypermarket #lotus #travel #thingstodo
Once known as Tesco, Lotus’s in Kampar has seamlessly stepped into its predecessor’s shoes—retaining the expansive convenience of a hypermarket while introducing a fresh rhythm to the town’s shopping scene.
The mall offers more than just groceries. Step inside, and you’ll find a variety of lifestyle essentials and surprises tucked into every corner: from DIY aisles for the home tinkerer, to Watsons and MyNews for daily pick-me-ups. There’s a comforting mix of local and international names—Bata, Maxis, Cosway, and Gintell—each catering to a different kind of everyday need.
Beyond retail, the food and beverage corner invites a leisurely pause, and even a charming cake shop tempts you with a sweet treat before heading home. With spectacle shops and other services nestled into the space, the mall feels like a little ecosystem of its own—a modern utility hub where convenience and familiarity walk side by side.
Lotus’s isn’t just a place to stock the pantry. It’s a spot where daily routines unfold quietly, with locals weaving through its aisles, and memories of Tesco still gently echoing in the background.

A Functional Gem in Kampar – EconSave Shopping Experience
#summervacay #malaysia #Econsave #hypermarket #kampar
EconSave Kampar may not boast high-end glamour, but it delivers where it truly counts—practicality, accessibility, and community convenience. Thoughtfully designed with ample free parking and EV charging stations, the mall makes the everyday chore of shopping feel refreshingly hassle-free.
Beyond groceries, its compact yet diverse layout offers a bit of everything: Digi, Watsons, food stalls, a money changer, phone shops, snacks and beverages, even a gym and a badminton court for those seeking a quick workout. You’ll also find essential amenities like ATMs, making it a one-stop hub for errands and casual browsing.
What sets this place apart is its affordability—groceries here are consistently priced lower than in nearby malls, drawing in a steady stream of locals, especially elderly shoppers who value both price and familiarity. There’s a quiet rhythm to the place, where routine meets reliability in an unpretentious setting.
It’s not just a supermarket—it’s a subtle social heart for the Kampar community, where necessity and neighborhood blend seamlessly.

A Taste of Tradition with a Modern Twist – Kampar Hakka Yin Café
#summervacay
#Hakkacafe
#Kamparfood
#malaysia
Nestled in the heart of Kampar, this Hakka café offers more than just a meal—it serves a nostalgic bridge between generations. With its blend of modern flair and transitional design, the space pays homage to Hakka heritage while embracing contemporary comfort.
I ordered the signature Hakka mee set, which came generously topped with a medley of handmade meatballs—each with its own texture and character—and a crisp sheet of golden fu chok that cracked beautifully with every bite. The springy noodles held just enough bite, soaked in a subtly savory sauce that clung lovingly to each strand.
Paired with a robust cup of kopi, bold and slightly bitter with that familiar local charm, the experience felt complete—like an ode to comfort food that hugs you from the inside out.
This lunch wasn’t just about flavor; it was a celebration of identity, warmth, and timeless taste. Kampar’s Hakka Café doesn’t just serve food—it invites you to slow down, savor, and remember.

A Tale of Two Mornings at Smile Breakfast Station
#summervacay #smilecafe #kampar #Breakfastfusion #coffee
Nestled in the heart of Kampar, Smile Breakfast Station lives up to its name with a charming duality—where the casual charisma of a traditional kopitiam meets the relaxed cool of a modern café. One space, two vibes. On one side, you have the nostalgic clatter of cutlery and kopi cups; on the other, the mellow hum of air-conditioning and espresso machines. It’s a rare hybrid that caters effortlessly to both teh tarik traditionalists and latte lovers.
What makes this fusion spot truly special is its menu—a glorious collision of cultures. For the local palate, there’s the ever-comforting pan mee, fragrant curry mee, and slurp-worthy laksa, best paired with a creamy white coffee. For those in the mood for something a little more continental, the café-style offerings don’t disappoint: spaghetti, chicken chop, and barista-brewed coffees like mocha and cappuccino.
I went with the olio olio spaghetti, a simple dish done right—garlicky, slick with olive oil, and just spicy enough to spark the taste buds. Paired with a velvety cappuccino, the meal came to less than RM20, which felt like a quiet little win in today’s café economy.
Whether you’re here for the AC and a caffeine fix, or for a bowl of noodles in the open-air bustle, Smile Breakfast Station is exactly what its name promises: a reason to smile before the day even starts.

A Modern Take on Tradition: Lei Cha Café in Kampar
#summervacay #leicha #food #kampar
Tucked away in the quiet charm of Kampar, Lei Cha Café breathes new life into a traditional Hakka staple. Often regarded as a humble, herbal comfort food, lei cha here is reimagined with a touch of creativity and customization—without losing the spirit of its origins.
The heart of the meal remains a familiar one: a base of rice topped with a rainbow of chopped vegetables, roasted peanuts, and preserved radish. But the magic begins when you’re given the freedom to personalize your bowl. I chose to top mine with slices of BBQ pork and a soft-boiled egg—an unexpected twist that added savory richness and a touch of indulgence to the normally earthy profile.
Even the iconic green soup—usually a one-style-fits-all herbal concoction—has options. You can go for the traditional runny broth or opt for a thicker, paste-like version that clings warmly to each grain of rice. I tried both, and each brought out different nuances of the ingredients it accompanied.
There’s something delightful about watching a dish so rooted in heritage being made new without being stripped of its soul. Lei Cha Café manages to be both a nod to the past and a gentle push into the future—turning the ancient into the approachable, the medicinal into the modern.
Kampar’s evolving food scene just found another gem. If you’re curious about how old flavors can wear new clothes, this is one experience not to miss.
#springitinerary
While it was China's National Day 🇨🇳 and just a regular weekend abroad, we took the chance to go on an exciting little getaway — to Gua Tempurung in Perak, Malaysia! 😍
This natural limestone cave is said to have formed as early as 8000 BC! Inside, it’s filled with stunning stalactites, marble, stalagmites, and all kinds of fascinating rock formations.
📍 Our day started bright and early — we drove from KL and stopped by Bidor Market for breakfast. It was alright… but the market itself was impressively clean! Around 10AM, we finally arrived at Gua Tempurung.
We bought the GT (Grand Tour - Dry) ticket, which only allows stair access — no water or crawling through tight spots. The cave is huge, and the stairs are many… and steep! 😅 Some of the iron staircases were slippery due to moisture, so be extra careful. I used the default camera on my iPhone 13 Pro Max for photos — and yes, the steps are often narrow and tall, not the best for anyone with a fear of heights.
Since it’s enclosed, it does get a bit stuffy inside, and climbing those stairs was quite the workout. But overall? Totally worth it! 🙌
✨ What I regret: Not doing the full cave exploration — the rock climbing, river trekking, and belly-crawling parts sound amazing (and a little wild!). If you go, definitely join the wet adventure tours! Just make sure to wear something comfy and not too precious 😆 Bring a flashlight, headlamp, and safety helmet too.
🗺️ 4 Package Options:
Gold Flowstone (GF - Dry)
Top of the World (TOW - Dry)
Top of the World + Short River Adventure (TWR - Wet)
Grand Tour (GT - Wet)
👉 GF & TOW are easier, drier tours – sightseeing only.
👉 TWR & GT include wet activities, climbing and crawling, and require a professional guide with proper gear.
🎫 Ticket Prices (for Grand Tour):
🇲🇾 Malaysians: RM30 (adult) / RM15 (child)
🌏 Foreigners: RM50 (adult) / RM25 (child)

Instead of Kangkung sotong, they serve Pucuk Paku Sotong which is such an amazing combination to try!
Also got Pang Tai Won (green drink) which is centella good for body and Orange Aiyu jelly which is the best drink to cure the Malaysian scorching heat
