Springtime is the best time of year to go hiking in Malta, after the winter rains the island is a lush green. The temperature is mild but very pleasant, and there are few tourists. One of the best trails that runs across the middle the island is called the Victoria Lines Trail which follows the line of fortifications that were set up across the island during the British colonial period. One of those interesting and intriguing chapels in Malta is the Chapel of Saint Paul the Hermit. The current chapel was built in 1656 and restored in the early 20th century. Sadly most of the time it is closed but you can peek through the windows to get a look inside.
