That instant alone made the entire journey worthwhile! Rooms: The rooms are incredibly spacious, designed like connected small villas. The most distinctively Bawa-esque feature is the semi-open air bathroom. Its non-enclosed design on two sides not only allows for natural ventilation but also perfectly embodies Bawa's philosophy of organically integrating architecture with nature. The interior furniture and lighting are also in a minimalist, modernist style – not a single superfluous detail! Pool: This might just be the longest hotel pool I've ever seen! I felt like I couldn't swim to the end in one go. Its length spans the entire accommodation area of the hotel, easily stretching for at least three or four hundred meters. You can easily apply online, so it's best to do it before you leave. 2️⃣ Cash is essential, but be careful not to exchange too much. Although more and more places accept cards, local shops and buses require **cash (Sri Lankan rupees)**. The trick is to exchange only a small amount at the airport and look for a place in the city with a good rate. 3️⃣ Use a SIM or pocket Wi-Fi for the internet! If you're staying for a long time, I recommend a local SIM. You can easily get one at the airport or at a mobile phone shop in the city. Dialog and Mobitel are the standard. 4️⃣ Negotiate the price when using a tuk-tuk. Ideally, it should have a meter, but if it doesn't, negotiate the price in advance!
