#familytrips2024 #deliciousfood #awesomepic The selection of dishes from the menu are limited but the crab and prawn dishes are pretty good. It is a local style cooking and we enjoyed it very much. Dishes were not too overpowering by sauces that we can still taste the prawn itself. The sea breeze is quite warm during the day but once the sun starting to set, it was colder. I see potential in this place if they upgrade their service, food presentations and take a well care of the surrounding. But overall, it was still a nice decision to stop here while we were in town.

Niah Cave (Gua Niah) is one of Sarawak’s smallest national parks but it is certainly one of the most important and unusual attractions to visitors. What is most interesting about Niah is that one of the main claims to fame is the birthplace of civilization in the region. The oldest modern human remains in Southeast Asia along with many other relics of prehistoric man were discovered about 40,000 years ago, making the park one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Interesting right? 🫨 This park has a size of 3,140 hectares of forest and limestone karst areas. It was first gazetted as a National Historic Monument in 1958 and on 23 November 1974 was gazetted as National Park and open to public on 1 January 1975. Apart from the Cave, we can also explore several kilometers of forest trails to feel the richness of tropical rainforests, climbing a 400m tall limestone ridge or visit an Iban longhouse located near the Park boundary. We can also rent a boat or walk along the river from Park headquarters to Batu Niah town. Why would I write a review about this cave? Because it’s really worth taking your time and walking quietly along the way, as you may well see some of the park’s wildlife. If you leave the Great cave and return along the plank walk around clouds intermingling, you can see half a million of swiftlets are returning to their nests, whilst half a million bats fly out to forage in the forest. This is one of Niah’s most spectacular sights which represent only a small niche in the earth complex ecosystem. One of Niah’s other notable sights is the unusual number of luminous fungi that growth at dark night. If you’re a cave person, this one shouldn’t be missed out! 😉

This cave managed by the Sarawak Forestry located at the northern edge of Mount Subis in Miri Division, Sarawak. Some said this cave was once home to the Penan Tribe and recognised by the UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Site. There is Entrance fee to visit to this cave worth RM 10 for Malaysian's Adult aged 18-59 years old, RM 5 for Senior Citizen aged above 60 years old and Disable Person while RM3 for Malaysian's children or teenager aged 6-17 years old. I really like the Swallow Cave and the painted pattern wall, but it requires the physical strength of climbing. It is about 10 kilometers round trip and takes 4 hours. The ticket is 20 yuan for foreigners!

I went to visit Bintulu with my family. This city have its own unique culture and vibrant. 1st day, we went to the city sightseeing (mall and masjid) and pasar malam. The Pasar Malam Bintulu sell lots of local product and delicacies. The next day,we went to Pantai Tanjung Batu,Beach Work and Taman Tubina. You can enjoy the view while eating at the stall in the beach. Later, we went to Taman Tubina, the zoo with free entrance. Although the animals there is not many, but they have deer, eagles, turtles,flamingo etc…dont expect too much since it is foc. The third day we went for roadtrip to Gua Niah which take about 1 hour and half. Gua Niah is one of the biggest cave in Asean. It has multiple caves with impressive and archeological sites. We had hikes about 6 hours to reach the Niah Cave. I literally love the natural surroundings, there is dense primary rain forest which is home to many species of plants and wildlife. If you are lucky enough, you can spot some wild animals such as Hornbill, Monkeys and various type of insects and snails. One of the reasons Niah became World Heritage Site is there are 7 types of burials at the Hell Trench where the Deep Skull was found. I'm truly enjoyed learning about the 40000 year old Deep Skull. Overall, it was really an appealing and challenging outdoor adventure! ⏩ Visitors must register first, admission ticket for Malaysian is RM10, also prepare RM2 for the boat ride before the hike. ⏩ Be noted to bring a torchlight, drink and good walking shoes, plus gloves to hold on to the railings as there is a lot of bat poop. 🕰️ Operating hours: Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays – 8.00am to 5.00pm. Easy 4 hours walk. Flat wooden bridge all the way to the cave. Plenty of stairs in the cave to facilitate your "climbing". Must bring a torch light along if you intend to go all the way in the cave. Highly recommended!

Must visit when you're in Miri. A two-hour drive from Miri, Niah National Park can be explored through a plank walk within the lowland forest with a fantastic flora and fauna. Walk ~3km to reach the trader's cave --> great cave --> painted cave. Amazing place. Visitors need to take their own torch lights or headlamps with them. Beautiful 40,000 year old caves the trail to reach is around 3Km one way. I enjoyed exploring this historic place. Our dream destination is to go to Hong Kong for my family trip as Hong Kong is paradise for food lovers, offering a wide variety of culinary delights. My family will enjoy it very much.

If you're interested in nature, I bet you're gonna love it. My family and I had a visit here in May 2024. I'm totally impressed. There is an entrance fee for Malaysian and Non-Malaysian. For me, It takes almost 3 hours return trip from the entrance to the cave itself. You will pass the trekking sites and some mini souvenir shops along your way to the cave. Inside the caves, you will find some of the oldest archeological sites and bird's nest high up on the cave walls with mystical sounds of bats and cool wind flow. #malaysiatrip The must visit place if you are at Bintulu or Miri (1.5hr from Bintulu). Entrance is RM10 for Malaysian. Parking available at entrance, after register, take a boat ride (RM1) to cross the river, will arrive at Musium first (free), then start walking along the pathway to the caves. It take 40 min to reach the first cave(trader cave), another 20 min to reach the second cave (Great Cave), from great cave another 1 hour to reach the Painted cave. Trader cave is the easiest, doesn't involved a lot of staircase, straight path, suitable for children and elderly, Great cave require hike up staircase and the most difficult and need light support if going up to Painted cave. Recommend to bring enough of water, change of clothes after exploration of the cave, good shoe as you will be walking around 10km (more than 10000 steps), toilet are available at the entrance and also inside. It takes about 4-5 hour to explore all the caves. Return boat to entrance is RM1 and the last boat leave at 4pm.

Niah caves are located near #miri, #Sarawak, #Malaysia. Nearest airport would be MYY Miri or BTU Bintulu. There is a lot of transportation options to Niah caves, but the best way, I would say, is to charter a car with the driver. There is no need for a tour guide as the cave is easy to explore and clearly marked. Charter a 5 seaters sedan to Niah caves is around MYR350, including trips to nearby villages and beaches (charter for roughly 12 hours). There is no tipping culture in Malaysia, therefore you are not required to tip the driver.

Niah National Park is located at Batu Niah, Sarawak. By using land road, it took approximately around 1 hour and a half to reach here from Miri. Niah Cave is the largest cave in Sarawak and it is proven that the cave is one of the earliest place where human live long time ago. Niah Cave is worh to explore with a significant archaeological evidence concerning prehistoric man’s existence. It is located on the island of Borneo, East Malaysia, 10 miles (16 km) inland from the South China Sea. When wandering into the cave, you are able to spot animals who take the cave as their dwelling, face the darkness and enjoy the coldness of wind in the cave. You need to pay RM 10 per entace and enjoy the 3 km pathway to the fatevof the cave.

📍 Niah National Park, 98200 Miri, Sarawak Niah Cave holds a lot of history that we learned in school. Niah Cave takes almost 2 hours to walk one way. So make it 4 hours to complete the journey 😅. Make sure you have enough flashlights and batteries. Some part of the cave when entering, it's dark. The destination is not too difficult but it’s a long journey and please expect stairs up and down. Just follow the Niah National Park sign board.
