Ninghai Hot springs is not very far from Ningbo. It’s easy to get there by train and you can enjoy your day on the nature while soaking in one of the pools. It’s open all day at the weekend haha and 1pm till late during the week.

20 minutes train ride away from Ningbo city, Ninghai country is home to Qiantong. 20 minute taxi from Ninghai station you will find the ticket office of the ancient town. Take a short walk from here towards the guarded entrance, here you can enter the ancient town which has been built up by the local residents. The government have helped the locals to expand the area and keep it active. The ancient town has a few paths to follow that lead into each other, there’s also some older buildings to visit and explore as well as local shops and cafes. Souvenirs are a must buy here. The Chedi Xinchang requires a 20-minute mountain road drive to Xiayanbei Village, while The Chedi Ninghai also needs driving to reach the town. Both have similar transportation and surrounding facilities. 3. Both hotels offer activities like horse feeding, photography, and weaving. However, The Chedi Ninghai provides more exquisite afternoon tea, while Xinchang only offers one free cocktail. 4. The biggest feature of The Chedi Xinchang is Hanfei River, though it's more like a small stream. The Chedi Ninghai focuses on bamboo as its characteristic, making you feel like being in an endless bamboo sea, far from city noise. 5. The Chedi Xinchang is located within a scenic area, where hotel shuttle service suffices. The Chedi Ninghai covers a vast area, requiring first a hotel bus then a shuttle transfer, making access relatively less convenient. Both properties have their own merits. Personally, I prefer The Chedi Xinchang because: first, the new hotel indeed gives better sensory experience; second, it pays more attention to details, such as providing free charging stations, complimentary meals and gifts for departing guests.

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I visited Xinchang Anman and left with a good impression. So on the weekend, I drove to check out Ninghai Anman. I originally booked a Lakeside Villa King Room but was lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a Bamboo View Villa—Lucky!!! The entire resort is built amidst a bamboo forest, offering lush greenery everywhere you look and a sense of seclusion far from the city's hustle and bustle. Each room is a standalone villa, providing strong privacy. The bedding is quite comfortable, and the skincare amenities are from Guerlain.
