Aomori | Showa Great Buddha, bigger than the Great Buddhas of Nara and Kamakura

I went to Seiryu-ji Temple in Aomori City. Seiryu-ji Temple is one of the famous historical temples in Aomori City. It was built in the Heian period and has been cherished by local people ever since. This temple is said to have many Buddhist statues and buildings known as important cultural properties. The famous Showa Daibutsu is also enshrined in the temple grounds. This Great Buddha was built to pray for peace and tranquility, and is about 21 meters tall. It is said to be bigger than the Great Buddhas of Nara and Kamakura! You can tour the inside of the statue, and you can also see paintings of hell and paradise. The bronze Great Buddha looks great against the snowy scenery.
