A quick 3 days trip in Baku

Overall, the trip in Baku is amazing even for a short period of time. Despite of the challenges, it was a good experience. The people are friendly, approachable and the place is very clean. It’s like a little Paris but cannot compare the cleanliness of Azerbaijan. However, we experience a very disappointing experience. 1. We arrived Baku 2am in the morning from Abu Dhabi. First disappointment was the strict travel requirements in which the physical UAE Emirates ID is mandatory to enter visa on arrival as Philippine Passport holders. Despite the uae residence is valid more than 6 or 1 yrs valid, the physical card is a must to have. 2. We arrived at Istanbul Gold hotel early morning with very limited staff to assist us. The room we booked was not clean and it seems the pillow and duvet cover was not changed due to the stains on it. The floor carpet of the room was not vacuumed as we can see candy and few things in the carpet. As we are tired and no housekeeping to clean or change, we leave it and we request them to clean the next day to change the room beddings. However, despite of being out the whole day we reached the place without any changes with our beddings so I have to speak to the Manager for them to clean it right away. But, I don’t agree with the other reviews that it’s clean coz for me I don’t see the cleanliness of the room. Price wise, it’s ok but not convenient for us. Day 1 tour - Gobustan and Absheron - We enjoy the Gobustan view except the museum. We are not into history of the country. But instead we prefer the scenery and the nature. - The food we experience in out Day 1 is not a wow local food and it’s a bit expensive. - Fire temple and fire mountain is not a worth of money to visit as there’s nothing interesting to see except the fire on the side of the mountain and the small temple with fire. Day 2 tour - Baku City Tour This is the place that we really recommend to visit and spend your whole day. Old Baku City, Highland Park and the Boulevard. The restaurant at the top of Highland Park is the best, not pricey and also we like the restaurant view. A must visit place. We might not be happy with our Day 1 but grateful to spend our last day in the City. The people are amazing and friendly. We will definitely visit again for a long period of time.
