Koh Talu in Bang Saphan

Thailand has several Koh Talu islands, so it's important to specify the location. Koh Talu in Bang Saphan is privately owned, with only one resort available: Koh Talu Island Resort. We purchased a 3-day, 2-night package that included the boat transfer to the island, accommodation, six meals, snorkeling, squid fishing, water activities, and sailing. Last year, the price was 8,400 THB per person. You can park your car at the hotel on the mainland, which is owned by the same company. The journey to the island takes just 20 minutes by speedboat. We loved the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful sea, delicious food, and friendly staff. Meals are served in two styles: buffet if there are many guests, or set meals for smaller groups (generously portioned, more than enough). Snacks, ice cream, and coffee are available for purchase throughout the day. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, but unfortunately, we noticed significant coral bleaching during our visit. The snorkeling platform was impressive—it was a wide floating platform, not a boat, making it easy to get on and off without feeling unstable. The accommodations are Thai-style villas by the sea, equipped with air conditioning (though it struggled to combat the heat). Each villa has a balcony for enjoying the sea breeze. Electricity is available intermittently as it is self-generated (we heard they are working on providing 24-hour electricity). The highlight of our trip was sailing. It was our first time, and heading out in the morning gave us a wonderful sense of freedom. The best time to visit is from October to May. Visiting towards the end of the year might be even more enjoyable.
