Cup Bridge, Benchamabophit Temple Bridge

Wat Benchamabophit has a small canal with 3 bridges crossing the canal: Phra Rup Bridge, Thua Bridge, and Nga Bridge. Thua Bridge is in the middle. There is a plaque inscribed with the history of the bridge, which says: “This bridge was built with money from the purchase of gold-patterned teacups for the royal cremation ceremony, which King Chulalongkorn graciously granted to be sold at a stall at the temple in R.S. 119. He donated the money from the teacups to this bridge, so he named it Thua Bridge.
