Attractions to Check Out: Saihan Tala Urban Grassland: The largest urban grassland in Asia, free to enter. Here you can ride horses, feed deer, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of grazing cattle and sheep under the wind-swept grass. At dusk, the sunset bathes the grassland in golden light, making for incredibly atmospheric photos. Baotou Golden Street: Known as the "Baotou branch of Hongyadong," this area dazzles with brilliant lights at night. The ancient-style architecture paired with vibrant lighting makes every photo look like a masterpiece. There are also various local snacks like tea soup and yogurt pancakes, perfect for both eating and snapping pics. Nanhai Park: A hidden gem in Baotou! With the misty Qingshan Mountain to the north and the Yellow River winding like a jade belt to the south, the lake's sparkling waters and soaring seagulls make it truly deserving of its nickname, "West Lake Beyond the Great Wall." The park also offers tons of fun activities like parasailing, speedboating, and rowing—thrilling and exciting! You can also visit Fumao Island in the lakeside area to pet some adorable cats. ■ Food Spots: A Liang Roasted Wings: A top-tier Baotou barbecue joint and a local favorite! Their roasted wings are the star—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The lamb skewers are also a must-try. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and has even upgraded with karaoke and interactive games in recent years, making it perfect for hanging out with friends! Happy Lamb: A must-eat on Baotou's hotpot list! Specializing in broth that doesn't require dipping sauces, their lamb is incredibly fresh and tender with no gamey taste. The clear soup base lets you savor the natural flavors of the meat! Yi Guo Xiang Braised Noodles: You can't leave Baotou without trying braised noodles! Yi Guo Xiang is a time-honored brand, and besides their signature braised noodles, their stewed dishes are also amazing. The portions are huge, and you can stuff yourself for just 25 yuan per person! Shaomai: In Baotou, shaomai restaurants are everywhere, and you can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite is Yuanxiyuan's cut shaomai—thin wrappers stuffed with generous fillings. The traditional lamb and scallion filling has zero gaminess, and every bite is pure satisfaction!
