Benicassim is a traditional resort town with six kilometres of sandy beach and high mountains overlooking the sea.

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Castellón (Region) These heights protect the town from the wind and are part of the Las Palmas Desert and the Sierra de Santa Águeda, where we find Bartolo Peak (729 m). This spiritual retreat founded by the Carmelites now offers interesting walking or cycling routes. The Old Camel Distillery, which made its liqueur using vanilla, eventually moved to the city center. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, modernist and colonial style holiday villas began to appear in the Benicàssim beach area. Of these, the oldest surviving is Villa Pilar, built in 1860. The neoclassical parish church, built in the 18th century, is the most representative building of the historic district.
