Bernus Park and its History

#celebratewithtrip The cover picture of this post is more than a 100 years old bridge that was once part of the Castle (Schloß) in Schloßstraße (castle street). Bockenheim has a lot of parks around the area, one of them is Bernus Park has been there in Bockenheim for more than centuries! Included in this post is the history of Bernus Park. The park belonged to the castle‘s garden before. The castle was destroyed during the WW2 bombing but fortunately, we could still see the old bridge that was part of the garden! Bernus park is accessible from all the public transportations and just few steps away from Frankfurt West Station. Many people come here on their leisure time especially family with children due to its big playground that caters from small to bigger children, even adults can enjoy the park to play table tennis. Aside from that, people visit the park to relax during break time or lunch time since the park is near offices and other establishments. #bernuspark #bockenheim #frankfurt #hessen #germany
