The surrounding green forests and misty mountains added a mysterious, solemn atmosphere—like stepping into a sacred secret. With each step up, I marveled at the exquisite reliefs and the sheer number of statues. I couldn’t believe this colossal masterpiece had survived centuries buried beneath volcanic ash, so well preserved! At the summit, the rain eased, and the eastern sky brightened ☀️🌅 Looking out beyond the Buddha statues, the clouds parted to reveal Mount Merapi—two majestic volcanic peaks standing guard.
