Busan Taejongdae (Taejongdae/태종대) is located at the southernmost tip of Yeongdo Island in Busan. It is a beautiful natural park that combines coastal rocks, evergreen forests and historical legends. ⛰️ Geography and geological scenery • The coast has been eroded and weathered by lake sedimentary rocks in the late Cretaceous period for many years, forming sea cliffs, caves and capes up to 100m high, which is one of the famous geological landscapes in Busan . • "Sinseonam" near Yeongdo Lighthouse is an uplifted sea platform formed during the last interglacial period about 120,000 years ago  . • The pine trees and about 200 species of warm zone plants on the rocky shore are lush and green along the cliff line, and the blue of the sea and the green of the forest reflect a magnificent picture. 🏺 History and Legends • The name comes from the 29th king of Silla, Taejong Muyeol (604–661), who practiced archery here, hence the name "Taejongdae" . • During droughts, rain-making ceremonies were held here, making it a sacred place that connects nature and royal power . 🚶 Activity routes and tourist services • The small train "Danubi Train" runs around the park, with a 25-minute circle. The round-trip fare for adults is about ₩3,000, and there are some discounts for children . You can buy the Busan visit Busan pass card from trip.com and go to the Taejongdae Ticket Center. Show this card to exchange for tickets for this small train, which is very convenient and has a high CP value! • The train has main stations: entrance → observatory → Yeongdo Lighthouse → Taejongsa → return to the entrance. You can also choose to explore the 4km circular trail on foot. • The park is designed for walking tours and cannot be entered by car; there are dressing rooms and rest areas along the way, but some areas such as the lighthouse require climbing stairs, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. 👀 Must-visit highlights guide • Observation deck: a great photo spot, overlooking Tsushima Island (Japan) and the vast sea view. • Yeongdo Lighthouse: Located on a steep coast, the special rock scenery such as "Shengxian Rock" and "Wangfu Stone" below are suitable for viewing and taking pictures. • Taejongsa: A small temple with seasonal flowers such as hydrangeas in the courtyard, suitable for walking and filming. • Gravel beach by the sea: The sound of geological rocks hitting each other is like a natural movement; you can listen quietly and enjoy natural healing. 🕰️ Transportation and visit information • Opening hours: approximately 04:00–24:00 from March to October, approximately 05:00–24:00 from November to February; indoor facilities such as lighthouses operate from 06:00–18:00. • How to get there: Take the Busan subway to Yeongdo Station, then take a bus to Taejong-do Station; there is a free parking lot at the entrance of the park. • Visiting suggestions: Spring and summer are the best time, and it is recommended to avoid crowds in the morning or evening to take pictures of the seascape; the whole journey takes about 2–3 hours, and it is easier if you take the train.
