The two small doors on the background wall of the shrine lead directly to the Mausoleum of Sultan Hassan. [Mihrab] The entire mosque is in the shape of a flat cross. Four Persian-style iwan arches surround the central open-air courtyard. There is an extremely exquisite Mihrab shrine in the arch facing Mecca. It is said that the stones were removed from the Crusader Temple. Recycled. [Sultan Hassan's Tomb] It was built in 1384, the 23rd year after the death of Sultan Hassan. It is decorated with wooden fences, and the two doors are covered with brass and inlaid with gold and silver. The dome of the mausoleum is 48 meters high and the total area is 750 square meters. [Major Engineering Accident] The person in charge of the project, Hassan (the grandson of Karaouen), was deposed not long after he ascended the throne at the age of 13, and then was immediately reset. This happened three times, but he was assassinated shortly after the completion of the project. During the construction, the minaret collapsed, killing more than 300 onlookers. At that time, people predicted that the sultan's rule was coming to an end. Unexpectedly, he was assassinated by his own army commander a month after the accident.
