Comfort food in Penang: hotpot!

#penangspots Stumbled across this hotpot restaurant while strolling at Auto City and decided to have dinner here! The restaurant is huge and spacious, filled with plenty of tables and seatings, is able to accommodate large groups of patrons. We ordered their tomato broth which was flavourful and was such a comforting food! The handmade shrimp paste is a signature item—crafted with two types of prawns for extra springiness and a deep, savoury taste. It comes shaped into small dollops presented on ice, ready to be spooned into your pot. The paste turns silky and fragrant when cooked, delivering a rich seafood bite that stands out among De Zhuang’s seafood offerings.
