Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, a ski resort town in France

Chamonix is located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France, just north of the Mont Blanc mountain range. It is a popular destination for winter sports and summer outdoor activities. Chamonix is also home to one of France’s oldest ski resorts. Chamonix Village is a charming little village surrounded by large mountains, with the Arve River, which originates in the Mont Blanc mountain range, running through the village. It is popular with whitewater rafters and kayakers. The village centre has a number of shops, restaurants and accommodation for tourists, as well as shopping, seasonal sports equipment and is home to the cable car station to Mont Blanc and the Montenvers train station to see France’s famous Met de Glace glacier.
