Check in at Chaozhou Han Wengong Temple

#NewYear2024 Han Yu's Temple is located at the foot of Bijia Mountain in the east of Chaozhou City. It was built in the second year of Xianping in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is the earliest existing temple in China to commemorate the Tang Dynasty writer Han Yu. It is another national key cultural relic protection unit in Chaozhou. The Wengong Temple is backed by Han Mountain and faces Han River. Han Wengu Temple is located on the mountainside and by the water, with a quiet environment. The ancestral hall currently has three floors. The width of the Han Temple is 18.7 meters, and the front wall of the temple is built with solid water-ground blue bricks. The joints between brick walls and beams are carefully carved and polished according to different arcs to make the bricks and wood fit tightly. There is a stone plaque on the gate of the shrine with the words "Han Wengong's Shrine" written in ancient official script. Historically, Han Yu is regarded as the parent of Chaozhou people and holds a lofty status in the hearts of Chaozhou people.
