Chiang Mai Ancient City - Chedi Luang Temple

In the old city of Chiang Mai, if you don’t want to walk too far, there are actually many historical sites to visit. Chedi Luang Temple, located in the center of Chiang Mai's ancient city, is the oldest and largest temple in Chiang Mai. Construction began in 1391 and took more than a hundred years to complete. It was not officially completed until the 15th century. The main building is about 80 meters high and the width of the ground floor is about 50 meters. It was the tallest and most iconic building in Chiang Mai at that time. However, in the middle of the 15th century, the building was damaged by an earthquake and the top of the main part of the temple collapsed. After the reconstruction in the 1990s, only part of it was completed, retaining the original appearance of the entire temple.
