#summervacay Stumbled upon Wat Prathat Doi Kiau (sometimes spelled Kwau or Kiew) during a random mountain drive and OMG, what a hidden gem! This place is tiny, super local, and perched up on a hill with views that’ll make you wanna stay forever. Seriously, you can see all the way to the Myanmar border on a clear day. The temple itself is peaceful and simple, nothing too flashy, but it’s got charm. The golden chedi shines bright against the green hills, and there’s this kind of serene energy in the air. Barely any people, no noise, just birds, breeze, and total zen. It’s a bit of a ride to get there (hello, winding mountain roads), but totally worth it if you love quiet spots with epic scenery. Bring snacks, water, and maybe someone who doesn’t get carsick lol. Bonus: it’s free, and you’ll probably be the only one there. Chiang Rai keeps surprising me, and Wat Prathat Doi Kiau? Total win.
