Chiayi｜Longyin Temple

In August 1995, the TV series "Jigong" also chose this temple as the origin of the story and filmed here, making Longyin Temple famous. This temple enshrines Master Li Xiuyuan, commonly known as Master Jigong. Master Jigong attained enlightenment on the third day of the tenth lunar month. Therefore, this day was designated as the birthday of the Zen master, and a grand fire-passing ceremony is held almost every year on the day of the festival. Its main purpose is to help sentient beings eliminate disasters and change misfortunes, and exorcise demons and avoid evil.
