The magnificent Herrenchiemsee Palace built by King Ludwig II is located on Helen Island, which floats on the lake, and is overwhelmed by its splendor, almost like the Palace of Versailles. When I actually visited, the tranquility of the lake and the splendor of the palace were in perfect harmony, and the time spent traveling to the island by boat was also enjoyable as part of the trip. The lakeside promenade and small villages were also picturesque, and it was a journey that calmed my mind🚣♀️🏞️ It is about an hour by train from Munich. From "Prien am Chiemsee" station, walk to the port, and from there take a ferry to Helen Island. You can enjoy the romance of the lakeside with your partner, or quietly immerse yourself in nature and history by yourself. Walking around the lakeside is free, so it's perfect for an absolutely free trip!
