The Best Forest Park in Chongqing for a Peaceful Vacation with Stunning Scenery

How is Chongqing still so hot in September? 😭 A while ago, I took my family and dog to Wuling Mountain to escape the heat. It's about a 2.5-hour drive from the city center, and the moment we stepped out of the car, we felt the refreshing coolness—so comfortable! We stayed in Yoga Valley, which is accessible only to guests, so it was quiet and uncrowded, though the area is small. The stay also includes complimentary park tickets, so you can explore both. Staying in the forest was amazing—every day greeted us with blue skies, white clouds, and fresh air. The forest park is also great for photos, though it gets busier. There’s a paid camping area that looked nice. The Tianchi (Heavenly Pool) in the park is the most photogenic spot—for a moment, it felt like we were in Western Sichuan, haha. Overall, it’s a perfect retreat from the summer heat. A day trip is enough if you’re just visiting, but since there aren’t many restaurants nearby, it’s best to bring your own food.
