Chongqing Jiefangbei Hyatt Hotel is located in the heart of Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street—Metropolitan Plaza, adjacent to Bayi Road Food Street, facing the People's Liberation Monument, and just a few minutes' walk to Hongya Cave. The location is extremely superior, and some rooms even offer a direct view overlooking Jiefangbei. 1. The hotel was renovated and reopened in 2019, formerly known as Haiyi Hotel. Due to the limitations of the original building structure, all guest rooms have relatively small bathrooms. Hyatt’s suites offer great value, equipped with two bathrooms and a spacious living room. Standard rooms are relatively small, so it is recommended to choose at least a deluxe room. 2. Chongqing Metropolitan Hyatt Hotel has 338 rooms and suites, with regular calendar prices under 700 RMB, offering excellent value. During this Globalist stay experience, I was directly upgraded to the "Hyatt Suite," and the two bathrooms with showers pleasantly surprised me. The room was very spacious with nothing to complain about. However, note that the lobby area is relatively small with low ceiling height, and high occupancy during holidays may affect the check-in experience. 3. The room service is impeccable, with a very good attitude, making you feel at home. The buffet breakfast is decent, featuring Chongqing specialty noodles and some snacks, and the restaurant service is still excellent. I visited right after the Spring Festival when there were many tourists, but the entire restaurant was orderly, clean, and not noisy at all. 4. The hotel also has a gym and a heated swimming pool, with a sweat steaming room and sauna next to the pool. Although I didn’t bring swimwear this time and couldn’t experience it, I checked it out—the environment is very good, and there is a small washing machine for drying swimwear, showing great attention to detail. 5. For dining, the Chinese restaurant "Chang’an No.1" specializes in northern cuisine, with roast duck as its signature dish. It is one of the better Chinese restaurants for roast duck in Chongqing. Honestly, it’s really quite delicious. The restaurant is open all day, and afternoon tea is also served here. 6. Overall, Chongqing Metropolitan Hyatt Hotel is recommended for those who want to check out the attractions around Jiefangbei. It not only offers great value and good facilities but is also very close to the sights.
