Here’s your 3-day, 2-night travel guide to Chongyi

If it’s your first time visiting Chongyi like me, don’t miss this guide from a night owl champion ✅—because you might never find a blogger as dedicated as me again! Day1️⃣ Arrive in Ganzhou and head to Chongyi. You can take a taxi or bus directly to Ganzhou Bus Station, then catch a bus straight to Chongyi. The county is small with a sparse population, so my first stop is the famous "Shangbao Terraces" 🏞️. Transfer from the county to Shangbao—there are two daily buses to the scenic area, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. There are also direct buses to Shangbao Town. Check into your hotel and explore the area in the afternoon. Day2️⃣ The scenic area opens at 8:30 AM, but 9:00 is fine too. Shangbao to the visitor center isn’t far, and if you’re staying at a homestay, the host can drop you off. The entire tour takes 3-4 hours. Since it’s off-season and farming time, no need to linger—except for photogenic spots 📸. In the afternoon, head back to the county (1.5-hour ride by bus or Didi, costing 40-50 RMB). After checking in, visit the **Chongyi Museum** ✅ to learn about the life of the sage Wang Yangming. Then, hit the snack street on Zhuwen Road for food. If you like noodles, try the local favorite "Zhuxiang Xianfen Renjia"—a must-visit old shop! At night, check out the county’s skyline from **Wenchang Pagoda**. It’s small but beautiful, perfect for a post-dinner stroll. Day3️⃣ After breakfast, head to **Yangmingshan National Forest Park**. It’s so close to the county that you can take a taxi (for groups), an e-bike, or a bus (for solo travelers). The park is vast, so take the shuttle directly to Yangling Summit and walk down to see Yunyin Temple, Lanxi Waterfall, and Yangming Lake. The whole tour takes about 4 hours.
