Nothing Can Prepare You For Just How Grand The Grand Canyon!

The phrase ‘photos don’t do it justice’ was made for the Grand Canyon, one of the most incredible natural wonders in the world. It is something that has been on my bucket list for a long time and I can’t believe I managed to make it there, and I still can't believe it is real. Honestly the sheer scale of the park is incredible and it’s really hard to understand the natural forces that were at play in it’s creation. It really is something you need to experience first hand to believe it is even real. The park itself is spread out over a huge area but the views into the valley are what drives the tourism here, so as you can probably anticipate they get very busy. Aim to get there early to avoid the crowds and also to avoid the heat, there is very little shade at the peaks of the viewing platforms! Also be aware of how uneven some of the walkways can be, we had a few issues with loose gravel and ledges - very scary knowing how high up you are! But there are plenty of safe photo spots there you can stay behind the railings and safety barriers. Be very careful, no selfie is worth putting yourself in danger for! My advice is to head straight for the main viewing platforms, then work your way back out around the park slowly in the car to take in the full park.
