Cool for the Summer

The Oregon Coast is perfect for escaping the heat. We stayed at the Bay Bridge Motel in a Queen room which had 🏖️Ambiance/Facilities: a microwave, small fridge, and a standup shower. There is a vending machine with sodas. 🕰️Business Hours: The office closes at 10pm. Make sure to call ahead if you have a late check-in. For a simple motel, it's really all you need. They offer suites with views of the bay. Although the motel is on a busy highway, they have lawns and landscaping around the property for a nice evening stroll overlooking the bay. There's a coffee kiosk the next property over with a drive up window and reasonably priced drinks that were well-made. The owner was the one working. He was friendly and it is clear he takes a lot of pride in his business. 🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: We spent time at Sunset Beach (State Park) and Bastendorf Beach. Sunset Beach has picnic tables and fire pits (seasonal) with a well-maintained bathroom. The park rangers were friendly and helpful. We visited Ferry Street Park and Simpson Park, which both had clean trails for dogs and joggers. Simpson Park has lots of benches along the trail with beautiful views of the bay for rest and reflection, and Ferry Street Park has a disc golf course. We've enjoyed the mild weather. The early morning fog breaks through to a crisp and light summer breeze with blue skies and sparkling water.
