Used as a monastery until the 16th century, it was converted into a palace by Fernando II and used as a summer residence for the royal family. The interior of the palace is a harmonious blend of various styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, Moorish, and Manueline, and is especially famous for the 'Salao Nobli' decorated with stained glass and gorgeous chandeliers. The park around the palace is great for a walk, and you can also have the unique experience of riding a horse or carriage around the area.
