The homestays I stayed at in Dali

Two homestays I stayed at in Dali📍 Jiwu Inn Located inside Dali Ancient Town and very close to the town gate, its transportation convenience is impeccable. This place features a 2-meter extra-large bed, which is perfect for families with kids like ours who specifically look for homestays with such beds. It's clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding, and L'Occitane toiletries. During our three-night stay, they provided a new set daily. The cleaning service was thorough and attentive—truly commendable! What stood out most was Jiwu's breakfast, offering rice noodles, eggs, fruits, and bird's nest. The ingredients were fresh, and the rice noodles, handmade by the auntie, were incredibly delicious!!🥹 I'd recommend avoiding the first-floor rooms, as a friend's room had a strange layout. The closer to the ancient town, the more crowded it gets, and nearby restaurants are pricier. Staying inside the town can be stressful, so Jiwu is a great alternative nearby.📍 Yunye Hotel This one opened recently this year. It's located near March Street (about 2km from the ancient town) but halfway up the mountain. During ethnic festivals, traffic jams can occur, but it's otherwise quiet, albeit slightly inconvenient. The style leans towards wabi-sabi, which is quite appealing. Priced in the mid-hundreds, the rooms are surprisingly spacious, ideal for families. Over three nights, the daytime cleaning was somewhat careless. Breakfast also focused on rice noodles but paled in comparison to Jiwu's. My biggest gripe was a bright light hidden in the AC unit and gaps in the curtains that let in outside light. As someone sensitive to light, combined with the room's size, sleep was restless. Thankfully, after feedback, they provided an eye mask and promptly covered the light with black tape. It's unclear if they've since fixed this issue. Between the two, Jiwu offered a better stay experience. These are just my personal reviews.
