Wat Phra That Doi Kaeng, Doi Tao District

Later, on February 18, 1921, Somdet Krom Phraya Damrong Rajanubhab came to pay homage to the Phra Borommathat Doi Kaeng along with Khru Ba Siwichai at that time. However, Wat Phra That Doi Kaeng was in a state of disrepair for a while until 1986, the abbot of Hod District (Phra Khru Phiphitthana Kanaphiban) at that time. Currently, it is Phra Thammakanlakacharn (Wi.), the abbot of Wat Phra That Si Chom Thong Worawihan, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province, who came to renovate it again. And later, Khru Ba Boonsri Aphipunno, the current abbot, made a pilgrimage up here. And led the faithful, both Thais and foreigners, to renovate it again by covering it in gold leaf to make the whole body shine yellow, looking very beautiful.
