Introduction to Dortmund

1. Dortmund's Phoenixhalle is located on the site of the former Phoenix-West steelworks in the Hörde district. The building was originally constructed in 1905 as a gas blower room for a blast furnace and was designated a historic monument in 2002. After several renovations and changes of use, the Phoenix Room is now called the Phoenix des Lumières and is used to display digital art exhibitions. Since 2023, it has been run by the company Culturspaces and has hosted digital exhibitions on artists such as Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Gustav Klimt, Antoni Gaudí and Salvador Dalí. 3. Phoenix Hall has a rich and colorful history. After its industrial use, it was renovated in 2003 as an exhibition and events venue. In 2017, Four Artists transformed it into a concert venue and hosted several concerts. Between 2018 and 2022, the Phoenix Hall was known as the Warsteiner Music Hall and hosted numerous concerts and events. 4. Between 2021 and 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Phoenix Hall was used as a vaccination center in Dortmund. It is very meaningful to come here
