Ikh Juu League Prince's Mansion, Ordos

The Ikh Juu League Prince's Mansion, also known as the Ikh Juu Prince's Mansion, is located on the west side of Wangfu Lane, Wangfu Road, Aletengxire Town, Ikh Juu Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The mansion is the only intact prince's mansion in the seven banners of Ordos, and the best-preserved prince's mansion in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia. The Prince's Mansion was built in 1902 and completed in 1936, with a total area of 2,105.79 square meters and a total construction area of 1,040.44 square meters. The mansion is divided into two courtyards, with a soil city wall built around the courtyard. The front yard was built in 1931 and the back yard was built in 1936, with a total of 16 residences. The overall building uses brick, wood, and stone structures, integrating the architectural styles of Mongolian, Tibetan, and Han nationalities, showing strong ethnic and local characteristics. The Prince's Mansion was originally the fief of Elinchen, the leader of the Ordos tribe and the 20th generation grandson of Genghis Khan, and later became the private residence of the Prince's Banner Zasak. Due to the hereditary succession of the princes of the past generations, the mansion has been relocated many times. Finally, in 1902, after the 14th generation Zasak of the Prince's Banner, Tugus Alatan Huyaktu, succeeded to the throne, the mansion was officially moved to its current location. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), the 15th generation Zasak of the Prince's Banner, Tubshengjirgledor Prince, began to renovate and build the mansion until it was completed in 1936. In 1988, the People's Government of Ikh Juu Banner announced the Prince's Mansion as a key cultural relic protection unit in the whole banner; in 1996, the Autonomous Region People's Government listed it as the third batch of key cultural relic protection units in the whole region. In 2013, the Prince's Mansion was officially opened to the public, becoming a tourist attraction and carrying out patriotic education activities. In recent years, the Ikh Juu Banner Cultural Tourism Group has created a series of mansion cultural brands centered on the Prince's Mansion, including cultural creation, performing arts, catering, etc., aiming to activate and utilize historical and cultural heritage and promote the high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry.
