I just returned from an incredible trip to the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum in Italy, and it was absolutely fascinating! 🏛️ Located in the Campania region, near the modern city of Ercolano, Herculaneum offers a unique glimpse into ancient Roman life. The entrance fee was about 13 euros, which is a bargain for the opportunity to explore such a well-preserved site. Walking through the ancient streets, I was struck by how much detail has been preserved. From the intricate mosaics and frescoes in the villas to the wooden structures and everyday items, it felt like the town was frozen in time. The highlights for me were the House of the Deer and the beautifully restored bathhouses. 🏺 Nearby, you can visit the more famous ruins of Pompeii, which are just a short train ride away. For a change of pace, the beautiful Amalfi Coast is also within reach, offering stunning coastal views and charming towns like Positano and Amalfi. Don’t miss a visit to Naples, where you can indulge in the world’s best pizza and explore the vibrant city life. Herculaneum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone curious about the ancient world.
