A travelogue of Florence, the city of romance and romance

Florence captivated my heart from the moment I first set foot there. True to its name as the cradle of the Renaissance, the entire city was a work of art. The red roofs were layered one after another, and the Arno River flowed leisurely between them, creating a beautiful picture postcard-like landscape. The start of my trip to Florence was definitely the Duomo. Brunelleschi’s dome was magnificent even from afar, and when I got closer, it had a delicate quality that made me want to gaze at it for a long time. When I climbed the 400-plus steps to the top of the dome, the entire view of Florence unfolded before my eyes. At that moment, as the sunset spread beyond the red roofs and warmly enveloped the entire city, I could truly feel why Florence was called the ‘City of Romance.’ Santa Maria Novella, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio… wherever I went, there was a quiet beauty. But the most impressive thing was the Ponte Vecchio. An old bridge floating on the river, small jewelry stores filling the bridge, lovers holding each other tightly, and music playing. Ending the day here felt like a scene from an old movie. At night, even the quiet alleys are lit up with soft lights, and an Italian dinner with a glass of wine completed the emotion of the trip. I still vividly remember the truffle pasta and warm hospitality I had at a small trattoria. Florence was not just a city to see historic sites. It was a city to walk, feel, and fall in love. Florence will be a warm and deep comfort to those who love art, those who seek quiet romance, or those who simply want to escape from everyday life. Florence is a dreamlike city that I definitely want to walk again. #HawaiiFlightEvent
