A day of city walking and gourmet exploring in Fukuoka

Although I said it was a city walk, it was actually a day of eating around. #fuglen In the morning, I went to Fuglen near the hotel. I had been there when it was popular in Tokyo, but the Fukuoka branch had few options and I couldn't choose the type of beans. Although the taste was not bad, it wasn't as impressive as when I had it for the first time in Tokyo. #鳗鱼饭 For lunch, I had Kyushu's specialty eel bowl. I was actually aiming for squid sashimi, but everywhere was full so I gave up. Compared to Nagoya's hitsumabushi and Tokyo's unaju, I felt that this way of eating was lighter. #Dazaifu Umeeda Mochi I took a bus to Dazaifu for some exercise after the meal, but I ended up eating it again. I had umeeda mochi at a popular restaurant that I happened to walk into. I thought it actually tasted of plum, but it was actually mochi with red bean paste. #邸串 In the evening, I enjoyed kushiage at Kushisho near the hotel. I was lucky to get a reservation. It's a local style, where you keep eating what the chef has selected. Particularly memorable were the fried apples, mochi and wagyu beef skewers. The chef explained the difference between kushiage and tempura, explaining that what used to be a single ingredient now combines two ingredients to create more texture. #MHL I found MHL at AMU and immediately bought two pieces.
