The oldest shrine in Hakata

#福堉田神社 is a shrine located in Hakata District, Fukuoka City, Japan. Kushida Shrine has a long history. Since ancient times, it has gathered the faith of local people as the chief god and general guardian of Hakata. In July every year, it holds the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, which was listed as a world intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2016, and in October, it holds large-scale events such as Hakata Festival. The gods enshrined are Ohata Okami (Kushida Okami), Amaterasu Okami, and Susanoo Okami (Gion Okami). The history of Kushida Shrine originated in 757.
