4. REVIEW OF SELF-GUIDED TRAVEL IN GERMANY (BERLIN – MUNICH) I recently spent 7 days and 6 nights in Germany, with 3 days in Berlin and 3 days in Munich. Germany is modern yet retains its historical charm, and transportation is extremely convenient. PREPARATIONS BEFORE THE TRIP Schengen Visa: Apply at the German Embassy. Airfare: Round-trip Hanoi – Berlin ~20 million VND/person. European SIM card: Esim with 20–30GB (Airalo). Warm jacket & sneakers: The weather is cool, and you’ll be walking a lot. TRANSPORTATION Berlin: Use U-Bahn (subway), S-Bahn (rapid transit), and trams. Munich: Use the U-Bahn metro or walk around the city center. Between the two cities: High-speed ICE train (~4 hours). CHECK-IN LOCATIONS Berlin: Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Wall, Holocaust Memorial, Museum Island. Munich: Marienplatz Square, Nymphenburg Palace, Viktualienmarkt Market, and if interested, take a tour to Neuschwanstein Castle (Disney fairytale). FOOD & DRINK German sausages (Bratwurst), world-famous German beer (Hofbräuhaus). Soft pretzels, dark bread, schnitzel (breaded and fried pork or chicken cutlet).
