[World Heritage] Ancient City of Guanajuato

The colorful city of Guanajuato was the model for a Disney movie. In 1741, the city was given the title of "Most Noble and Faithful City of Santa Fe de Minas de Guanajuato" and in 1790, due to the abundant wealth from the mines, it became an "Intendencia" (state). In the 18th century, it was one of the world's leading silver mining centers and the richest city in Mexico during the early colonial period. If you climb the Pipila Hill, you can see the whole city. You can see a beautiful view both day and night. The whole city is a World Heritage Site. It is registered under the name of Guanajuato Historic Center and Mines.
