Sanxingdui Museum

After seeing the exquisite exhibition of Sanxingdui artifacts at a museum in Hong Kong, I initially planned to visit the Sanxingdui Archaeological Site Park. However, this site is protected and no longer open to the public. Since I was already here, I decided to explore the museum instead. To my surprise, I ended up spending over six hours there. The exhibits were incredibly rich, featuring artifacts unearthed in recent years, videos showcasing the archaeological excavation and preservation of items from sacrificial pits No. 1 to No. 8, and even AI technology used to restore and reconstruct the artifacts. The visual impact of items like stone discs, bronze pieces, jade swords, jade zhangs, jade axes, and ivory was astonishing. The advanced craftsmanship was simply unbelievable. I rented an audio guide, which provided detailed explanations for every exhibit in the museum. I had always imagined the sacred trees of Sanxingdui, and this time my wish was fulfilled: not only did I see the No. 1 sacred tree, but also the No. 3 sacred tree and the Money Tree (which is not a modern creation but existed in ancient Shu civilization). Although the No. 2 sacred tree was only partially preserved, there was an imaginative reconstruction of it. Visiting Chengdu without going to the Sanxingdui Museum would be a huge regret. Plus, coming during the Dragon Boat Festival allowed me to avoid the crowds.
