Huanghuagang Stele Corridor

The Huanghuagang Stele Corridor is a significant memorial facility within Huanghuagang Park in Guangzhou. After the failed Huanghuagang Uprising in 1911 (the third year of the Xuantong reign in the Qing Dynasty), the martyrs who sacrificed their lives were buried at Huanghuagang. From 1921 to 1926 (the 10th to 15th years of the Republic of China), descendants erected 11 commemorative stone steles to honor and remember the martyrs, forming a corridor of memorial steles. The steles in the corridor were primarily erected to commemorate the martyrs of the Guangzhou "March 29th" Uprising (Huanghuagang Uprising) in 1911. They were established by various sectors of society between 1912 and 1926, expressing admiration for the revolutionary heroes. Among them is the poetic stele *Nine Laments for Huanghuagang* by Liu Datong, a revolutionary of the Tongmenghui (Chinese United League). The inscription records his nine visits to mourn the martyrs between 1911 and 1919, with the famous lines: *"Yellow flowers bloom on Huanghuagang, yellow flowers and white bones lie together."* **Architectural Style**: The blue-brick archways and stone steles complement each other, making it an ideal spot for Hanfu or neo-Chinese-style photography, with a striking atmosphere. **Stele Inscriptions**: In addition to commemorative texts, the corridor also preserves stone carvings of handwritten works by modern celebrities, holding both artistic and historical value. **Location**: Situated alongside the main path of the park's tomb avenue, it forms the core memorial area along with the 72 Martyrs' Mausoleum and the Jigong Pavilion (Statue of Liberty), belonging to one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Yangcheng"—*"Heroic Spirit of Huanghuagang."*
