You can sometimes hear the clanging of machinery in the shopping district in front of Hakone-Yumoto Station. That's when the castella buns, a specialty of Kikugawa Shoten, start to be baked. You can watch them being baked up close, so it's fun just to watch, but we recommend buying one and trying it. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, you can enjoy the juicy taste along with the sweet bean paste. For a late lunch, we popped into the Italian restaurant "808 Monsmare" near Hakone-Yumoto Station and enjoyed some pizzas. There are many different types of pizzas to choose from, including the standard Margherita. The Hakone Bismarck is especially recommended. Juicy meat topped with egg, the flavor spreads throughout your mouth with just the right amount of salt. You might end up eating too much...
